Golf in Lanzarote

Lanzarote is one of the seven islands that emerge from the Atlantic Ocean to form the Canary Island archipelago, and because it is so peculiar, it is the most special of them all.

This volcanic land of black lava, which makes you think you are on the moon, is dotted with green oases of lush plant life and capped by incomparable sunsets over its crystal pure waters. Definitely, a paradise to discover while golfing!

There are two golf courses to visit.

LANZAROTE GOLF RESORT

This is a brand new golf course situated near Puerto del Carman. It is about 10 mins from our house in Puerto Calero and approximately 5 mins from the Matagorda Bay property.

Lanzarote Golf Course is an attractive modern course with 18 holes, par 72, and has been created by the well known North American designer Ron Kirby. Adapted over the original land, it shows an attractive undulation in accordance with the idylic landscape of Lanzarote.

The course design has strived to respect the environment of the island. It is perfectly integrated with the natural landscape and the water used is 100% recyled.

There is also a golf academy, driving range, practice course and putting green. Clubs and buggies are available for hire.

GOLF COSTA TEGUISE

There is an 8-hole golf course located near the resort of Costa Teguise. It is about 20 minutes from our Puerto Calero house and about 10 from the Matagorda Bay apartment. It was designed by the British landscape architect, John Harris, and built in 1978. A marvel not only for its challenging design but also for its excellent year-round conditions. Golf Costa Teguise is located at the foot of a spent volcano surrounded by thousands of palm trees, cactuses and, of course, black lava and breath taking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Here, you can appreciate how man has moulded nature while respecting its delicate balance. Lanzarote's warm temperatures combined with this matchless setting offer you a true golfing paradise.
