Flights:

Flights to Lanzarote can be purchased from numerous airlines.

Below are some of the airlines that fly direct from the UK & Ireland.

The earlier you book your flights the cheaper they are likely to be.

Airlines fly from various airports and countries on different days of the week.

TIP: Try searching for one way flights and be creative about where you can fly to and from. Often you can book outbound from one home airport and inbound to another, which sometimes helps to keep the cost down.

When searching you should look for flights to Arrecife, Airport code ACE.

Taxis:

Taxis are fairly cheap in Lanzarote. They are plentiful at the airport and also in every resort. A taxi from the airport to the Puerto Calero property is about 10/15 mins by car and will cost approximately 22 Euros. The Matagorda Apartment is only 5 minutes from the Airport and the taxi only a few Euros.

Taxis generally do not like to be 'flagged down' outside of main resorts. In some areas of the island including Puerto Calero they are not allowed to stop if flagged. It is best to go to an authorised rank. There is a taxi rank at the bottom of the Matagorda Bay complex and taxi's can be found all along the front of all the resorts and in Puerto Calero, along from the Iberostar Costa Calero Hotel - a few minutes from our villa.

Water Taxi:

There is a unique water taxi from the Marina in Puerto Calero to Puerto del Carmen. It is fairly regular however, the last water taxi back from Puerto Del Carmen is not late. Up to date timetables are available in the house, or can be checked at the Information Bureau in the Marina.

Car Hire:

You may prefer the freedom of picking up a car at the airport upon arrival and having this at your disposal for the duration of your stay to explore the island more fully.

Whilst not essential, we recommend car hire when staying in Puerto Calero.

It is always best to arrange car hire before you travel. It is cheaper to do this and ensures availability. Car Hire companies have a presence at the airport so you can pick your car up and simply drive to your accommodation. Full directions by road to both properties are sent to you once you have booked your stay with us.

Buses:

There is a surprisingly good public bus service to get you around the island. It is popular and cheap to use. The nearest bus stop in Puerto Calero is by the roundabout as you enter the village (by the little boat and figures) and for the Matagorda Bay property a bus stop is almost next door to the complex.
